森-動物-社会の「つながり」を科学する
Introduction of our laboratory

For resolving human-wildlife conflicts, our laboratoy has conducted multidisciplinary researches in terms of different spatio-temporal scales, which deal with decision-makings from regional policy to national land policy regarding wildlife population and habitat management in northern Japan. To promote understanding local ecosystem process (including human interventions), which affords the key to develop a radical solution to the current and future conflicts, we have also addressed basic ecological studies on multi-evaluation of biological interactions and various species habitats both in natural and artificially modified forest environments.
