Symposium on Management of Land and Water Resources: Studies in Europe and Asia

This symposium is held with the aim of presenting the recent advances, priorities and focus of interest on environmental sciences with special emphasis on Forest and Agriculture in Europe and Asia. During the symposium a wide range of presentations concerning the response, resilience and adaptation of natural ecosystems to anthropogenic as well as natural factors will be discussed, which we expect will provide the base for a more efficient management of our natural resources. In order to accomplish this aim we invite Professors, Lecturers and Researchers from Universities with which Yamagata University has collaborations in Europe, namely Leibniz Universität Hannover and University of Koblenz in Germany, University of Lleida in Spain and University of Turin in Italy.

This symposium will also provide an excellent opportunity for Ph.D students in the Faculty of Agriculture of Yamagata University to present the results of their studies. We expect that this symposium will become a platform to launch future research collaborations with the participating Universities and promote an even more active exchange of students.
