This symposium aims to present areas of research on environmental sciences, emphasizing the role of modern technology in addressing current global environmental challenges. During the symposium we will discuss the recent trends in the use of artificial intelligence, machine learning, remote sensing, and management of big data. At present, these tools offer unprecedented opportunities for understanding complex ecological interactions, monitoring environmental processes in real time, and predict future trends related to climate change with greater accuracy.

The symposium will highlight case studies from both Europe and Asia, focusing on the resilience, adaptation, and sustainability under climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss. In this multidisciplinary platform, scientists and students will discuss the different approaches, priorities and views towards finding global solutions.The symposium will be held in a hybrid format, allowing both in-person attendance at Yamagata University and virtual participation from other UGAS constituent universities and from overseas. This inclusive structure will ensure that experts from our partner universities can contribute to and benefit from the discussions, fostering a broader exchange of ideas among the participants.

Schedule: The first two days of the Symposium will be held at the Faculty of Agriculture (Tsuruoka City) and the third and fourth day will be held at the Faculty of Science (Yamagata City) of Yamagata University. On March 6th, a tour of Yamadera will be organized for the participants

Presentations: The time for presentations will be adjusted according to the number of Professors and Graduate students (25 min for Professors and 15 min for Graduate students including Q&A time).
