In 2023 the summer seminar will be conducted in Italy and Germany. We will visit the University of Torino and research sites in Piemonte Region from September 11-18 and from September 18 - 29, we will visit Hannover University, Hannover surroundings and vist research and cultural sites in Northern Germany (Hamburg and Bremenhaven). This seminar is open for undergraduate and Graduate students at the Faculty of Agriculture at YU. This seminar aims at promoting the existing the DD Program with Hannover University and promote exchange of students with the University of Torino. This seminar offers a great opportunity for students to learn about foreign university educational system and experience different cultures.
This field seminar is organized with Leibniz University Hannover in Germany and the University of Torino in Italy. It is conducted in the Yamagata University Research Forest and at several other location in Northeastern Japan. The aim is to show the interaction between forest ecosytems in cold environments in Japan, the adaptation to climate change and the resilience of forests and local communities to severe natural phenomena in this region of Japan.
