Bechelor’s Degree Programs

Master’s Degree Programs

The 2-year research program aims at fostering talent capable of solving problems in international and local communities. The program consists of three majors, Bioproduction Science, Bioresource Science and Bioenvironmental Science which are all designed to equip the students with in-depth knowledge on sustainable production of safe agricultural and livestock products and supportive agricultural management as well as the revitalization of communities. The program curriculum allows students to learn a wide range of subjects from highly trained professionals and also actively participate in a number of activities. The academic year starts in April and is divided into two semesters: summer semester (April 1 to September 30) and winter semester (October 1 to March 31). Each graduate student is advised by the lead faculty advisor and two assistant faculty advisors. Students choose the courses to en-roll in at the beginning of each semester after making consultation with their academic advisors and acquire credits on completion of the course and all related assignments. Doctoral Program

Faculty of Agriculture, Yamagata University is part of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences which facilitates the doctorate program. All information regarding the 3-year program are available at the university website

Dual Degree Programs

This program is available for enrolled students to receive two master degrees from YU and Leibniz Universität Hannover, simultaneously. The detailed requirements for this program are provided in the student hand book. Students can also make inquiries at the student support Center

Syllabus

Credits will be awarded after taking a course and meeting all the requirements. One standard course units consists of lectures and exercises in additional to experiments and practical training that may take ~45 hours. Credit calculation takes into consideration individual effort outside the class allocated hours. Students are required to register for the appropriate course at the student affairs desk at the beginning of the semester.
