2017年「サマースクールinドイツ」を実施しました

 平成29年度「食-農-環境連携を担うグローバル人材育成事業」の一環として、9月11日(月)から9月24日(日)までの14日間、ドイツ・ハノーバー大学にてサマースクールを実施し、本学部学生12名および教職員2名が参加しました。
 ハノーバー大学自然科学学部では、ドイツの農業、林業、再生可能エネルギーの開発などを学び、現地の学生らとディスカッションを通して交流を深めました。

  

 
Field lectures on wind power generation and soil removal and deposition along the coasts of the North Sea in Schleswig-Holstein. Germany produces 30% of its energy from renewable sources, with wind power being the biggest source.

 
At the top of Brocken Mountain above the tree line in the Harz Mountain Range in southern Lower Saxony. Forest management, restoration and eco tourism were the main topics in the area within the National Park.

 
Visit to a Hydropower plant in the Harz Mountains, one of the oldest in Germany. The production of electricity at present is 12,500 MWh/year.

 
Fieldwork on soil erosion of the rich-nutrient soils in the agricultural fields of the southern area of Lower Saxony. Prof. Buckhard explaining the use of the LIDAR system to scan the fields temporally for comparison.

 
Visit to a waste water treatment plant in Hannover. The WWTP uses the sludge that remains after the treatment to generate electricity that covers 65% of the electricity demand.

 
The organizers and the students who participated from both universities in the last day of the summer school. All the students had to do group presentations about each of the the field visits during the summer school.
